I am trying to install TIA Portal V14 STEP 7/Startdrive/WinCC professional on a Windows 7 Virtual Machine, but am running into some issues. When the installation is occurring it gives an error (see attached Error screenshot). Anyone have any experience with this?

I can tell you that I have probably installed software over 50 virtual machines, mostly virtualbox and whenever I had any errors I just started from scratch. All TIA from 10.5 to 16 are installed on VMs
So I have blank virtual machines setup for windows 7 and windows 10 and I believe also windows 95 and when I have those kinds of errors that do not have one solution (.NET was not an error that was a requirement) I just delete that machine and start from scratch and see if the same thing happens.
Parallels is the fastest, easiest, and virtual desktop application for running Windows or Mac devices without the need to reboot. It allows you to deploy hundreds of installations in no time with Parallels. Using Parallels, you can easily run several Windows apps like Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, Access, Quicken, QuickBooks, and even CAD programs without compromising their performance.
Since these instructions take you through the installation process in a virtual environment, you need to ensure you have one set up on your system. In this article, we are using VirtualBox, as it is a simple to use, open-source virtualization solution.
After creating a vhd and going through that process i'm unable to install win7 x64. I've went through various settings and trying to get it right. It'll boot the windows install but then indicate the following error (image included too):
Only after all these manipulations I was able to run Ventura 13.1 on a MacBook Pro A1398 (model 10.1) successfully. After installation, the screen problem was gone and the MacBook Pro A1398 (model 10.1 - the first Retina) was fully operational except for VMware Fusion.

Fist of all, if your NAT mode network is working well then I assume there is nothing wrong with your virtual box installation. While the NAT mode doesn't require much additional setting beside set the virtual machine to use DHCP, the bridged adapter mode need some additional configuration. Because it's basically to simulate that your virtual machine has it's own LAN cable and plug it into the switch or router by "riding" your real connection (whether it is wired or wireless). So, to make it work please configure your Ubuntu's wired connection to use the same configuration as your host computer/windows (but of course with different IP address).Good luck mate.
The installation files are stored in the "FLASHDRIVE" partition.Since this partition is stored as a VHD file in the "BOOTCAMP"partition, do not try to reformat the "BOOTCAMP" partition. You willremove these installation files in a later step. When your Macrestarts, it will boot to OS X. This is to be expected. From the"System Preferences" select Windows as your startup disk and restartthe Mac. Your Windows installation will continue.
It so happened that I did a win10 install on my MacBook Air just yesterday, and I ran into exactly the same problem of seeing "no bootable partition", followed by having only two choices at the boot selection screen after power cycle. However, I didn't do anything special to get it working. I just restarted it again, while holding down the Option key from the beginning, and the USB (windows) showed up as one of the boot choices. I'll just list everything I can think of so that you might spot something:
I performed a fresh installation of Windows XP with only one partition. I used the new boot disk and did not change any of the partition settings and did not format. I selected the partition with Windows XP on it and clicked OK when the "Windows Old" message came up.
" bright idea came to mind to boot from the Win 7 RC DVD and try to run setup from the USB drive. I booted from the DVD with the USB drive plugged into the computer, and saw the Setup screen from the DVD. I selected the Repair option. After the setup program groped the hard drive for any installations of Windows (and found nothing), I selected the first option, and saw the list of repair options. I selected the Command Prompt option, and saw the Windows Command Prompt. I changed drives to the USB, which was mounted as a drive letter. I ran setup.exe from the USB drive. I took out the DVD disk (which I learned from another 0x80070570 error when the setup used the DVD to expand the files) and pressed the Install button. With the DVD out of the drive, setup used the contents of the USB drive to perform the installation (albeit slowly since the computer only has built-in USB1.1 ports), and I did not encounter any errors."
yer im having the same problem, but i have installed windows 7 64bit before, no problem, and no hard ware changes, although i have discoverd that if i install xp, then do a clean install while xp i running i can get 32bit to install.
Run the downloaded VirtualBox setup exe, and follow the instructions. The one part where you need to pay attention is the configuration of network adapters. By design, virtualization products create virtual machines (computers), with their own virtual hardware, including network. You will need to approve the installation of VirtualBox network drivers (signed by Oracle).
The fourth step is to decide what setup you like. Most people want the normal installation, which comes with a complete desktop and a set of productivity applications. You can also choose to install third-party software, graphics drivers and media codecs (last checkbox). This is recommended, as it will give you access to a wider range of applications and use cases.
After you have mastered this step, you can then re-run the installation and replace Windows 7 with Ubuntu (on the same PC or a different computer, if you like). Alternatively, you can simply reuse the Windows 7 partition(s) inside Ubuntu as additional storage space.
In the Ubuntu alongside Windows 7 option, the installer automatically selected/dev/sda8 as the candidate for the installation. If your computer only has one partition (essentially the C:\ drive), you will need to resize it. This means you do need sufficient free space, and you must safely back up your data, as hard disk operations can be risky. 2ff7e9595c
